😂 Maybe I should have used a picture of a ronin, but I thought more people would make the Indie connection lol. And your book keeps popping up on my goodreads to read!
Welcome to the indie world! You are definitely not alone. Indie is its own community and I've found it to be a good one. I've not regretted my choice of joining it vs trying the traditional route.
Thank you, Danielle! Also I just noticed your tagline is "Daydream and Dragons" and I love it! Thank you for the warm welcome into the indie publishing world
The whole sickofsmut thing was weird to me because Quill and Flame publishes steamy books that barely stop short of the full on thing. At least one has a bedscene that lasts three or four pages. I wanted to submit to them and read some of their authors to see what they prefer. I wrote an action/suspense/romance fantasy for them and decided not to submit it because it has no steam at all. Instead I published it here on substack and got very nice readers and comments. Indie is very fun, welcome to the fold!
Thank you for the warm welcome :) I'm excited for the opportunity to start on my own path. My books are always no-spice, kisses only romance with a focus on brave hearts in a broken world. I personally believe in keeping YA age-appropriate so that's what I chose to write ❤️
I was a little surprised by this news, and while in a way it's sad, a little like moving away from family, I think? it's also so very wonderfully exciting! I can hardly wait to see what great things you do through this indie path, and not gonna lie. . . I am drooling over this idea of a special edition hardcover😅 So here for you!
Ashton, thank you! I love the authors at Q&F and it's a loss in a way to go off on a new path. But its also something I needed to do. And now we have a gorgeous special edition to look forward to :)
Thank you! The publishing world is a lot of cloak and dagger. I guess it likes to be theatrical, which makes sense given it's the world of storytelling 😂 But I hope to always strive for transparency to better help other creatives and respect their work as well.
Welcome to the indie world! Looking forward to seeing your journey.
Welcome to the indie side! (Wow I JUST realized why you have a picture of Indiana Jones included 🤦🏻♀️)

I love the concept of a Ronin writer! Wishing you all the best in this new era and I can't wait to read S&M!
Thank you! I liked the idea of a ronin writer too :) It was fun to research it.

I've seen so much support from the indie world in the brief time since I announced this and it's been encouraging!
Oh, my friend! I promise you are not alone in this indie publishing world. We're here to support you and cheer you on.

Thank you! I write fantasy, so the name felt fitting.

I'm so happy for you as you embark on this new journey. :)
Thank you, Moriah!
Excited to see where your book(s) goes!! 😍
Emily, thank you! It's a lot to figure out at once, but I know it will be good and so grateful for this community :)
Eye-opening! Thanks for sharing, Ellen. Praying for you and your journey this morning!

I’m sorry this has been so hard! I look forward to getting to read (or listen) to your book. Erin Phillips has been a huge promoter of it 😊
I hope you enjoy it when you have the chance! Erin is so wonderful. Love her and her books!
