Hello friends!
I can’t believe May is almost over. Golden Week in Japan has come and gone with its koi banners, crowds, and holidays. My book launch for Saints & Monsters was amazing! I didn’t make it to 1,000 new readers, but we made it close! THANK YOU everyone who helped share, read, and review the book. You encouraged me after a hard season in life! ❤️
Over the last year, I had a painful rights reversion with my publisher and lost my audiobook deal for Wayfinder. A few years before that, I parted with my agent. It felt like BACKWARD steps.
But going indie has actually opened doors and given me FORWARD momentum. I’ve found more community, more opportunity, and more freedom to make these stories shine. It’s just the beginning.
As Luffy from One Piece says, “As long as I live, there are infinite chances.”
Just because you have setbacks doesn’t mean you are further back in life. It means you have a new stepping stone to learn from and infinite chances ahead of you.
I’m getting weekly messages from authors and readers encouraged by my journey and those who loved SAINTS & MONSTERS—the story meant something to them. That wasn’t happening before. New beginnings. Setbacks can be forward progress🫶
KICKSTARTER IS COMING!!!!
I’m terrible at keeping bookish news secret, so … I am launching THE LAST WAYFINDER as a Kickstarter project.
Click the link below and "Notify me on launch" to get an email from Kickstarter when we go live this fall! I’d love to have 250 prelaunch followers before the kickstarter launches in September. Will you help by following the campaign? AND if you want a sneak peek at what the book’s about ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
❄️ Why Kickstarter? ❄️
It’s a crowdfunding platform to help fund the production of the book, but MORE than that, it allows me to build a community through writing and do fun extras I’m not able to do otherwise. I'm bringing The Last Wayfinder to life with:
Gorgeous special editions
Illustrated art prints (the artist is sooo talented!)
Signed bookplates from Japan
Behind-the-scenes content and epic stretch goals
Quality editing and production
🥰 The campaign won’t start until September, but you can follow now to help spread the word!
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS!

THE NEVER HEIR by Courtney Millecam. I have only heard wonderful things about this book and the series. It’s a Peter Pan retelling, teen friendly, no-spice romance, and fun historical vibes. I reached out to Courtney recently because I’ve heard amazing things about these books, and she is a super kind author! Excited to read these!
EMPIRE OF DRAGONS by Rachel L Schade. This is another no-spice YA fantasy with dragons. Rachel is an author I’ve followed for a few years, and while I haven’t read these yet I’ve heard enough good things that I feel comfortable sharing it here! ALSO Rachel is a new mom and i just want to give her a shoutout because big life changes can be HARD. So check out her books, free on KU :)
